Let's remember 1755

The “Remember 1755” movement turns the day that changed Lisbon into a living experience — an annual moment of reflection, unity and awareness.

This year, 1 November takes on new meaning at Quake, with special sessions that happen on this day only.

More than revisiting history, it's a chance to experience the memory of 1755 with every sense — to feel the impact, hear the accounts, understand how Lisbon rebuilt itself and, above all, grasp the power of being prepared.

Because remembering isn't an act of nostalgia, it's a gesture towards the future.

Experience history like never before

Throughout the day, the museum becomes a living stage, where actors in period costume inhabit the space and the characters of 1755 find their voices again. Nobles, merchants and soldiers share real, moving stories about the day Lisbon shook, the chaos that followed and the strength that rebuilt it.

The setting gains new layers — period scents, live music, surprise moments and tastings inspired by the 18th century, all designed to awaken the senses and carry you into the heart of that era.

These are unique sessions, limited to 800 places, created so that every visitor feels part of this collective memory.

Because there are days Lisbon cannot forget — and this is one of them.

Don't forget:

this exclusive experience happens only once a year, and tickets are almost sold out.
