Quake - Lisbon Earthquake Museum is located near to Avenida da Índia, in the historic area of Belém. The best way to get to Quake is by public transport - bus, train or tram, which connect the area to many points in the city of Lisbon and the other side of the river (information below). Bicycle, scooter, or even car, can also be good alternatives, but remember that parking in this area is scarce.

When you arrive at Quake, you should go to the Reception to register and receive the RFID (Radio-frequency identification) bracelets, small technological devices to wear on the wrist, that will accompany you throughout the experience.
The RFID bracelet is a technology incorporated into Quake and a fundamental part of the experience and of the post-visit, in order to make it more intuitive and complete. This technology will allow you to bookmark the various interactive stations available throughout the visit, so that you can later receive additional information and curiosities on the topics that interest you the most.
After checking in at the Reception, you will wait for the beginning of the experience in a designated area - together with a maximum group of 19 people, so that each person can properly enjoy the visit. As the earthquake simulator is part of the experience, as well as other interactive stations that require a certain emotional maturity, the visit is not allowed to children under 6 years of age. Access to the simulator platform is not recommended to people who are pregnant, with reduced mobility or any other health conditions susceptible to the simulator's movements, namely heart problems. However, the simulator room has an area that allows visitors to watch the entire earthquake recreation without entering the platform, allowing them to enjoy the surrounding environment, provided by the many special effects. In case of health conditions susceptible to special effects, such as photosensitive epilepsy, we do not recommend entering the room.
We would also like to inform you that before the beginning of the experience you may test your RFID bracelet in an interactive station designed exclusively for that purpose - a member of the staff will be present to accompany you. After these initial minutes, your experience will begin, and it will last approximately 1h 40min. Expect the unexpected!
Quake was developed and designed so as to share knowledge and arouse emotions in its visitors within a safe, fun and intuitive environment. The highlight of the experience is to relive the impressive Earthquake that struck the city of Lisbon in 1755 - reproduced by a simulator using technological equipment and special effects. In this moment of the visit, the groups will be accompanied by a member of the staff, whom will ensure the appropriate safety measures.
